The music program at Homestead Senior Secondary College is aimed at providing our students with dynamic and engaging musical experiences that provide opportunities for collaborative-based learning. Students will have access to a range of contemporary musical instruments, music technology and state of the art facilities. Our facilities include an outdoor amphitheatre, silent band stations and a recording studio.
Our classroom music program is designed to provide a variety of musical experiences for young people. Students will develop knowledge and skills in areas such as music theory, solo and group performance, music technology, and creative composition.
Instrumental Lessons
Homestead Senior Secondary College offers an instrumental music program for students wanting to learn:
- Guitar (Acoustic or Electric)
- Bass Guitar
- Vocals
- Keyboard
- Drums
- Music production & beat making
This program caters for students enrolled in VCE Music studies, as well as beginner and intermediate musicians. Students at Homestead Senior Secondary College have the opportunity to engage in the contemporary band program where they will rehearse and perform repertoire as a group. Our students will perform at a variety of school events throughout the year.
Music Club
To support the music learning experience of our students, Homestead Senior Secondary College offers music club twice per week. Students are able to rehearse using our music equipment and facilities, learn more about all aspects of music or simply enjoy creating and composing music with friends.
