BYOD

Homestead Senior Secondary College caters for the use of both Apple Mac Computers and PC. At the Senior Levels, students often need to complete complex tasks using their devices. For this reason, and due to issues with connectivity and ease of use, we do not allow iPads or tablets as part of our BYOD program, Please see the college BYOD minimum requirement document for further support in deciding the device for your child.

Homestead Senior utilises the DET Google for Education Suite.

With this package, students receive all the necessary tools such as:

• Email

• Drive-online storage of documents

• Docs-Word processing; equivalent to Microsoft Word

• Slides-Presentation software; equivalent to Microsoft PowerPoint

• Sheets-Spreadsheet Software; equivalent to Microsoft Excel

• Classroom-Online place for each class, discussions, sharing of documents, submission of work

• Sites-Create your own website

Homestead highly recommend the use of the Google platform however parents have the ability to opt-out of the use of this free package at enrolment.
